Disclaimers for Alpha Gal Travel

Everything on Alpha Gal Travel comes from my own experience living and traveling with Alpha-gal Syndrome, plus research I've done along the way. I share it because it's what I wish I'd had when I was first diagnosed, and I do my best to keep it accurate. But I'm not a physician, dietitian, or medical professional of any kind, and nothing on this site should be treated as medical advice.

Not Medical Advice

Alpha-gal Syndrome varies a lot from person to person. What works for my body, my reaction threshold, and my travel routine may not work for yours. Before you make any decisions about your diet, travel plans, or how you manage a reaction, talk to your allergist or doctor. If you're having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Don't wait on an email from me.

About the Consultation Calls

The 45-minute consultation calls I offer are educational, not medical. Think of them as one Alpha-gal Syndrome patient talking through travel logistics with another, not a clinical appointment. Nothing discussed on a call creates a doctor-patient relationship, a therapist-client relationship, or any other professional relationship covered by medical privacy law. I'll never ask you to skip a conversation with your own care team, and I'd rather you loop them in on anything that affects your treatment plan.

Restaurants, Products, and Recommendations

When I mention a restaurant, hotel, product, or brand as something that's worked for me, that's exactly what it is: something that worked for me, once, under the conditions I was in that day. Menus change. Kitchens change staff. Ingredient sourcing changes without notice. I can't guarantee any restaurant, product, or destination will be safe for you, and I'm not responsible for a reaction you have after trying something I've mentioned. Always verify ingredients and cross-contamination practices yourself before you eat, and carry your own safety plan and medication.

Third-Party Links and Content

This site sometimes links to other websites, apps, tour operators, or resources I don't control. I don't vouch for their accuracy, and I'm not responsible for what you find there or any transaction you make with them.

Affiliate Relationships

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you book or purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend things I've actually used or would use myself.

Your Risk to Manage

Traveling with a serious food allergy always carries risk, no matter how much planning goes into a trip. By using this site, you're agreeing that any decisions you make about food, travel, or your health based on what you read here are yours to make and yours to carry. My goal and hope are to help you feel more confident and prepared if and when you choose to travel.
